Miyajima in the Inland Sea has long been worshipped as an Island of God. On the island are a number of shrines and temples including Itsukushima shrine, Daishoin, Daiganji temple, attracting many visitors. The view of the Inland Sea from the summit of the 535 meters Mt. Misan covered by primeval forest is breathtakingly beautiful. You can climb the mountain on foot or take a ropeway, so anyone can easily go to the peak. Miyajima is also famous for its colorful foliage in fall. At the Momijitani Park that extends along a stream, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain entirely covered with red foliage. We recommend you to visit the area at the time of autumn leaf color.
