Onomichi is known as a city where the number of temples are as same as that of slopes. Among the “three Onomichi famous temples” that are Saikokuji, Jodoji and Senkoji, the one we recommend is Senkoji built on the top of a mountain. From the temple you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Onomichi Suido and the small islands in the Inland Sea. You can also enjoy the view from the ropeway that connects the foot and the summit of the mountain. Ononichi offers good roads for cycling; you can cycle to islands such as Mukaishima island, In-no-shima island and Ikuchijima island in the Inland Sea by crossing the Shimanami Kaido. That kind of “small trip” to small islands is one of the reasons many people come to Onomichi - rent-a-cycle can be reserved online.
