Area Map
Ise City is a temple town of Ise Jingu shrine and a gate town for Ise pilgrimage. Ise City has a lot of sightseeing spots too. Okage-yokocyo, a shopping street in front of Ise Jingu, is a very popular spot - the ambience of Edo Period is recreaated. There are 55 shops on the street, including restaurants and souvenir shops. Also there is a facility where you can experience the traditional culture of the Ise Road. Talking of a scenic beauty, Futami-ura in Ise Bay draw many tourists. Fufu-iwa, or couple’s rocks, gives a unique scenery -- two rocks sticking out from the sea are roped at the heads as if a couple is standing hand in hand. From May to July, the sun is up between the rocks and this view attracts many visitors.
