Facing the Sea of Japan and the Ariake Sea, Saga is traditionally known as a prefecture with many traditional handcraft producing areas such as Karatsu, Imari, and Arita where there are still many potteries are producing ceramics. The highlight is the Yoshinogari Archeological Park. Ancient buildings like dwelling houses and watchtowers are restored and placed in the large area. You can get inside those buildings. There are many hot springs in Saga, too. Ureshino hot spring, for example, is said to make your skin smooth. After you taka a hot spring, you can enjoy local cuisine sich as Saga beef, Imari beef, and Mutsugoro fish.
