Kushimoto
A perpetual summer town with a full of marine activities.
Area Map
At the edge of Kii Mountains, Kushimoto is the southernmost town of the mainland in Japan. Jutting into the Pacific Ocean from Kii peninsula and its promontory is famous for the great ocean view. Its latitude is same as Hachijojima, a tropical island of Tokyo, which means that a genial climate continues throughout the year. The long coastline is extending east to west, providing a unique scenery that is best suited for driving. Regular stops are Kushimoto Marine Park Aquarium where you can see the aquatic wonder from the underwater tunnel, and Taichi Kujirahama Park where you can flirt with dolphins and other sea animals. Plenty of beach activities including marine diving, sea-kayaking, and whale-watching are available.
