Ishide temple, founded in 728, is one of the 88 temples of Shikoku pilgrimage. It has abundant cultural properties including a designated national treasure Omon, a pair of the entrance gates. The temple is also famous to bless for childbirth, many couples visit the temple to bring back a stone in the precinct, which is believed to have a power to procreate a baby. The treasures of temple are on display including best cultural properties in Shikoku. The street in front of the gate is bustling with pilgrims. There are a lot of souvenir shops and the local specialty Yakiimo, baked sweet potate will amuse your tastebuds.
