The Nebuta Warasse, just one minute away on foot from JR Aomori station, is a museum where you can learn and experience everything about the city’s famous Nebuta Matsuri festival which is held annually in August. You can see and touch enormous Nebutas (lantern floats) which were actually used in the Nebuta parade. Walking through the Nebutas with the sound of Japanese guitars, Japanese flutes, and musical accompaniment, you feel as if you are in the middle of the Nebuta festival.
