Their sake come from all over the country, and their shochu are brewed from a variety of ingredients, such as potatoes, barley, soba, and so on. Tsubomi is an izakaya facing Hanamikoji Street (Hanamikoji-dori), which passes though the center of Gion, Hanamachi. In this area, most of the old cityscape remains, and you can also see maiko and geiko (traditional female entertainers) heading for ozashiki (dinner parties in a tatami room).
